Ring has introduced a new verification feature for videos captured on its devices, allowing users to confirm the authenticity of footage. This advancement, which is available starting Thursday, ensures that videos downloaded directly from the Ring app now include a security seal, indicating they have not been tampered with.
Customers can verify a video by visiting Ring's dedicated verification page and pasting the video link. This process occurs entirely within the user's browser, ensuring privacy as the video remains on the device and is not uploaded anywhere. However, only MP4 files are accepted for verification, which is the format used by Ring videos.
Videos recorded before December 2025 or those that have been edited in any way, including minor adjustments, are ineligible for verification. Any alterations, even slight changes in duration or brightness, will make the video unverifiable.
