Ring, a subsidiary of Amazon, is launching a solar-powered surveillance trailer priced at $5,000, aimed at enhancing security in various settings such as parking lots and construction sites. The new product, unveiled at CES, is equipped with a 360-degree camera that offers 4k resolution for comprehensive monitoring without blind spots.
This initiative marks a significant shift for Ring, which is expanding its offerings beyond residential doorbells to compete more aggressively with established commercial security firms like Verkada and Motorola Solutions. The trailer can function on both battery and solar power, featuring built-in LTE for internet connectivity, making it suitable for off-grid locations.
Scheduled for release this spring, the Ring Mobile Security Trailer is part of Ring's "Jobsite" security portfolio, which also features the new Ring Elite camera line designed for larger business environments. Additionally, Ring has introduced a "Fire Watch" feature in collaboration with Watch Duty, aimed at providing wildfire alerts and facilitating communication with first responders.
